Replacement decision: replace the box, or review the loop?

In a neutralization process, an apparently small difference between a local display and a control-system reading can become a purchasing problem. Before ordering, document whether the concern is calibration, signal transmission, the electrode or the controller. Have a qualified technician check the measurement chain under the site's maintenance procedures. Buying another instrument with the same family name does not establish that the cause has been addressed.

CPM223 in brief

Liquisys CPM223 is a pH/ORP panel transmitter. Manufacturer literature identifies a Single-channel pH/ORP platform in a 96 x 96 mm panel housing, with IP54 protection. Family output and communication choices include 0/4–20 mA, HART and PROFIBUS; the installed version must be checked. Sensor compatibility also depends on version: do not assume that an analog installation and a Memosens installation use interchangeable hardware.

Is every CPM223 suitable for my existing electrode?

No compatibility should be assumed from the series name alone. Match the sensor technology, input version, temperature measurement and wiring against the offered device documentation.

Does a transmitter replacement eliminate calibration work?

Plan commissioning and calibration under the applicable operating instructions. A matching order code does not replace installation checks or verification of the complete measuring point.

What if I want a newer alternative?

Request a documented comparison of sensor compatibility, panel fit, power, signals and operating requirements. Do not treat a modern transmitter as a drop-in replacement without that review.
